BURNS, WOUNDS, SCARS, and STRETCH MARKS
Emu oil aids in cell regeneration which makes it an effective topical treatment for burns, wounds, and bruises. Where emu oil is applied to wounds, incisions and burns, minimal scar tissue is formed during the healing process, therefore, burn victims may need little or no skin grafting, according to numerous studies.
Emu oil helps to flatten keloid scarring, which is caused by an excessive deposition of collagen scar tissue resulting in raised tissue in humans. In animals it is commonly called “proud flesh”. Even established scar tissue can be reduced by regular application of emu oil. It thickens the skin around the wound or incision so elasticity is restored as it blends in better with the surrounding undamaged skin. Some lighter skinned people have a genetic predisposition to keloid scarring but it is most prevalent in those with darker skin.
Emu oil minimizes the appearance of stretch marks, a very shallow scar tissue formed as a result of growing too fast, rapid weight gain, or pregnancy caused by excessive deposition of collagen. Emu oil is best applied at the onset of a pregnancy to help prevent stretch marks from occurring. We have seen some amazing results.
Emu oil relieves the redness and itching after radiation therapy or laser peels. It helps the skin heal faster than Vitamin E oil and it is not sticky resulting in a less painful application. Again, we have seen results that have even left medical doctors amazed.
